Sri Rishi Prabhakar was an aeronautical engineer, a computer scientist and the founder of Sidha Samadhi Yoga. Prabhakar graduated from Bangalore University. After receiving a masters degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Ottawa, he completed his M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
There are Prabhakars organization with 100 ashrams in 20 cities. His headquarters is located at a 32 acre campus in Rishi Tapokshetra which is "a yoga finishing school of sorts for a three-day advanced course". Guruji's organization has a cancer research center whose goal is to eliminate cancer through yoga and healthy eating. He is on the Board of World Religious Leaders for the Elijah Interfaith Institute.
Prabhakar received his spiritual training from his guru, Bhagwan Visweswaraiah and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Prabhakar is married to Arundhati Ma and has a son named Master Sidhhanth. Swamiji left his body on 16th February 2014 at Bangalore Karnataka.
SSY stands for 'Siddha Samadhi Yoga' (often expanded as ‘Science of Silence Yoga’) where Siddha means ‘something (i.e., knowledge) that is proven or accomplished’, Samadhi means ‘a state in which the intellect is equanimous’ and Yoga means ‘union with one’s higher self’. SSY is the fundamental knowledge of life. Ancient rishis had formulated a unique mode of training called Brahmopadesam, which is an instruction on the science of non-doing and experiencing stillness within and abundance without. It brings about a sea change in one’s outlook towards life and effects remarkable maturity in the individual. SSY is nothing but the present-day version of this ancient science of Brahmopadesam.
